Remembering Professor Anthony Grant
"Just take a look outside tonight and contemplate the infinity of space. There are stars so distant from you that they’re measured in the distance that light travels in an Earthly year. Beyond those stars that you can see are endless galaxies that stretch out into something we call eternity.
Indeed, the space that you occupy is infinite. Its vastness is too huge for us to see. We’re in an infinite, never-ending, never-beginning universe."
Excerpted from The Power of Intention, by Dr Wayne Dyer, pages 120-121.
With this introduction, this 'Insights and Reflections' post is dedicated to the memory of Professor Anthony Grant, serving as a heartfelt expression of gratitude for his profound scholarly and humanistic contributions.

In a world where time slips through our fingers and our mortality is a constant companion, lets come together to honour the life and remarkable contributions of Professor Anthony Grant. Beyond his scholarly achievements, thought leadership, and noteworthy publications on evidence-based coaching, coaching psychology, and behavioural science, Professor Grant was a passionate champion of human development and flourishing , infusing his work with empathy and an unwavering dedication to lifting others. His memory is cherished beyond the confines of mere citations, academic rankings, and the status quo.
As I reflect on his impact, I recall the profound influence Professor Anthony (Tony) Grant had on me through his work, even in our brief exchanges. His warmth and encouragement were palpable, revealing a scholar who embodied genuine enthusiasm and support without pretense or ego. His dedication and humility left an indelible mark, illustrating the transformative power of sincerity and passion. While I recognise that every subject matter expert is striving to do their best, and I neither endorse nor disprove their efforts, particularly when venturing into establishing a new domain of research and specialisation, Tony’s modest and transparent approach was genuinely empowering.
Just for today – take life one day at a time – especially when it all feels too much.
No matter how impressive our efforts to preserve physical appearance or maintain the status quo while alive, they ultimately remain confined to the physical realm. In other words, our deeds, actions, and the life we lead leave a lasting legacy far beyond the confines of our physical existence.
Today, as we pause to honour Tony’s memory on this fourth anniversary of his passing, let us reflect on his profound impact and the lasting legacy he left behind.
As academics, managers, coworkers, parents, or simply as individuals, let us ask ourselves:
How have our personalities, characters, coupled with knowledge and expertise, inspired those around us?
How have we contributed to the flourishing of our students , colleagues , teams , or children?
When did we last offer a genuine gesture of support , leaving a subtle mark of empathy?
Let us remember that our time on this earth is finite, and mortality is a reality we all face. Let us strive to touch lives and make meaningful connections before it’s too late, ensuring that our legacy is one of genuine impact and lasting influence.
With deepest appreciation.
Dr Z. Ebrahimi
