Mentors, mentees, collaborators, members, web visitors, and all individuals engaging with our platform and community are required to uphold the highest ethical standards. This includes maintaining honesty, integrity, and respect in all interactions within the community.
Anti-Discrimination and Inclusivity
Mentors, mentees, collaborators, members, web visitors, and all individuals engaging with our platform and community are strictly prohibited from engaging in any form of discrimination, including but not limited to race, gender, age, religion, or any other protected characteristic. A commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse community where everyone is treated with respect and dignity is essential.
Representation Policy
Members, mentors, and contributors are permitted to promote their personal roles and contributions within the research-practice linkage community. However, it must be clear that they are not representing, officially affiliated with, or employed by the community or platform. They may identify themselves as a mentor, contributor, or member engaged in the community, but must not imply any formal position within, speak on behalf of, or claim employment by the community or platform itself.
Anti-Spam Policy
Mentors, mentees, collaborators, web visitors, and all individuals engaging with our platform and community are strictly prohibited from sending spam emails to any other members of the Skills Academia community.
Responsibility for Collaborative Interactions
Collaborators are are responsible for the nature of their collaboration and interactions within the platform and with all other members of the community. Skills Academia Research and Insights Collective for Excellence does not bear any liability or responsibility for incidents or conflicts arising from such interactions, collaborations, or other activities among members, contributors, authors, readers, and website and community visitors.
Nature of Mentoring Commitments
As volunteer mentors generously dedicate their personal time to support their mentees, it is important to note that mentoring sessions are not contractual or formal commitments. The duration of mentoring sessions is based on the availability of the mentor, and while mentors strive to provide support to their mentees to the best of their ability, it is understood that mentoring relationships can be terminated at any time due to other commitments or unavailability of the mentor. While mentors endeavor to communicate this possibility with their mentees, there should be no expectation regarding a specific length of time for which mentors are obligated to provide voluntary mentoring services.
Prohibition of Sexism and Abuse
Sexism, any sexual, verbal, psychological, or other forms of abuse are strictly prohibited. Such incidents will be recorded against the individual and will be disclosed to appropriate law enforcement agencies if required by law.
Compliance with Laws
Skills Academia Research and Insights Collective for Excellence hereby disclaims any liability for unethical, illegal, or immoral actions undertaken by its web visitors, mentors, mentees, collaborators, or community members. All individuals engaging with our platform and community are required to refrain from providing false or misleading information, as well as from sharing content that may cause harm or violate legal or ethical standards in any manner. Engaging in activities with potential legal consequences is strictly prohibited.
Feedback and Peer Review
Skills Academia Research and Insights Collective for Excellence is not a peer-reviewed journal or peer-reviewed publishing service. While opportunities exist for researchers to receive peer feedback on working papers, manuscripts, and research outputs, any feedback from our mentors or contributors is entirely voluntary and based on goodwill. It is essential not to assume that such feedback follows standard peer-reviewed publishing protocols. The community encourages a culture of voluntary collaboration and constructive feedback, respectful communication, respecting the diverse expertise and contributions of its members without imposing formal peer-review obligations.
Event Participation
Mentors, mentees, collaborators, web visitors, and members of the community, and all individuals engaging with our platform and community are obligated to communicate with kindness, respect, and sensitivity during both physical and online events. Embracing inclusivity, our community welcomes individuals from diverse cultural, religious, ethnic, and other backgrounds. All communications should be mindful of these differences, fostering an environment that is respectful and harmonious for every participant.

During online presentations, webinars, and mentor-mentee meetings, participants are expected to adhere to friendly and professional etiquette. Presentation content and delivery should reflect a high standard of professionalism, ensuring an engaging and safe experience for all attendees. Unethical, disrespectful, or disruptive behavior contrary to these principles may result in appropriate action, including session termination, permanent ban, and restriction from future events.
Confidentiality of Platform Information
All who interact with us are expected to respect privacy, copyright, and maintain the confidentiality of information shared within the Skills Academia Research and Insights Collective for Excellence platform. All content on www.skillsacademia.org is governed by a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), permitting sharing, distribution, and use by everyone, subject to appropriate attribution. However, it is crucial to note that any content, including confidential data shared as part of collaboration, co-authorship, mentoring, and guidance, must adhere to its associated confidentiality protocols and copyright agreements established among working parties.
